Mindset: The Most Important Part Of Entrepreneurship

mindset

Have you ever been watching motivational videos on Youtube and wondered “How are these people so successful when all they do is talk to people and tell them to be positive?”.

Well it’s a good question… Who wouldn’t want to just talk all day and make millions of dollars, right?

So let’s get into WHY people like Tony Robbins and Gary Vee are getting paid for public speaking in the first place.

Self-help: A Constant Need

If you’ve ever taken a look around at your fellow humans, surely you’ve come to the harsh realization – we’re a mess.

I don’t mean to sound negative, I mean… there’s a LOT of beauty in the world too, but for every shooting star out there, there’s also some degenerate on Reddit claiming the earth is flat and that aliens abducted him and replaced his brain with a Jello shooter…

This isn’t something new. We didn’t just wake up one day and collectively decide to lose our minds. This has been happening for thousands and thousands of years.

The only difference is – now we have the internet to instantly send our insanity all over the globe and then collect it all and display it proudly for the rest of the world to see.

So what does this have to do with Tony Robbins, or you as an entrepreneur?

It’s pretty simple really… humans are constantly in need of help and guidance.

As an entrepreneur, one of the first things you learn is – you HAVE to find a problem and solve it for people in order to make money.

So why not just try to solve a problem that has always been there, and will continue to always be there?

Well, that’s exactly what these motivational speakers are doing.

They’re simply identifying a problem; People need help believing in themselves.

Then they’re taking action to try to solve that problem for people.

The more they can help people realize their true worth, the more “value” they’re giving to other people, and the more money they make.

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.”

I don’t usually like using long quotes to make a point, but Ghandi hit the nail right on the head with that one.

When you change your mindset, it enables you to start creating better relationships and habits, which eventually will lead you to success.

The misconception that greedy and selfish people are the only ones who succeed are simply not true at all. I don’t usually like using long quotes to make a point, but Ghandi hit the nail right on the head with that one.

The misconception that greedy and selfish people are the only ones who succeed are simply not true at all.

Sure, greedy people will get ahead for a while, but they never build anything that truly lasts.

Look at Enron and what happened there. They HAD a great company, then they got greedy and it collapsed VERY quickly.

Now compare that with Amazon, who made it their mission to give the customer whatever they wanted reliably and at a cheap price.

They’re destroying everyone else. Amazon is putting companies like J.C. Penney out of business after being around for over a full century, simply because Jeff Bezos had a healthy and selfless mindset.

The Hard Part: Believing In Yourself

I’m EXTREMELY confident in my intelligence and you’d think that I would have zero problems succeeding as a business person.

I understand numbers VERY well, I understand people VERY well, and I can suck up information like a vacuum cleaner.

Yet, being self-employed is extremely difficult and I struggle to have faith in myself on a daily basis… but why?

If I have all of those things going for me, and if I’m not afraid of failure, then why wouldn’t I just automatically crush the business world?

The fact of the matter is, most of us have a lot of doubts about ourselves, even when all the data in the world suggests we shouldn’t.

You’ll hear a LOT about Imposter Syndrome as a new entrepreneur, and you shouldn’t take it lightly. It’s the real deal…

I wish I could tell you some magical secret that could help you believe in yourself, but I’m not Tony Robbins. I’m not a motivational speaker who gets paid millions of dollars to change people’s lives.

I’m just a guy on his laptop going through the same thing as all the rest of you.

One thing I do know though… If you, or I, figure out the secret to believing in ourselves and teaching other people to believe in themselves, a whole world of opportunity WILL open up and it may not be such a far-fetched idea to be getting paid millions of dollars for solving the problem that every other living human being faces today.

I hope you enjoyed this article, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Try to smile and believe in yourself a little bit!
